The Patient and Public Relations department works collaboratively with all hospital service areas to ensure delivery of the highest quality of care to each of our patients, their loved ones and visitors.

MESSAGE FROM THE DIRECTOR

Pacific Hospital of Long Beach's Patient and Public Relations department cares about our patients, visitors and all who enter our hospital.

We are committed to following our mission statement, "To heal with compassion and perform with distinction" by assisting in facilitating the best experience possible for our patients.

We are sensitive to the issues regarding health care and are aiming for excellence and distinction in our community and surrounding communities.

Gift ShopCome in and browse in our quaint gift shop stocked with unique gifts, flowers and cards.

It's conveniently located on the first floor, near the front entrance of the hospital.


The gift shop hours are 9:00a to 4:00p, Monday - Friday.


Volunteer at PHLB  Volunteer Program

Our volunteer program is divided in two parts:
regular volunteers and candy stripers.

Regular volunteers have set schedules and duties.
Candy stripers are usually high school students that volunteer during the summer and special events.

A minimum of 50 hours are required for all volunteers.

The Volunteering Process  The Volunteering Process

  • First, fill out the volunteer application.
  • Submit completed application to the volunteer coordinator
  • Schedule an interview with volunteer coordinator
  • Must have a current TB test
    (No longer than 6 months)
  • Attend orientation
  • Take a tour of the hospital
  • If approved, start volunteering!

Most of our departments throughout the hospital utilize the help of volunteers.

We are always looking for outgoing & friendly volunteers who are interested in helping others in the healthcare industry.
