Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
Our Professional Nursing Staff Offers A Compassionate And Caring Approach
Pacific Hospital of Long Beach has an 8-bed Intensive Care Unit to provide continuous monitoring of the acutely critically ill patient.
The high acuity patients admitted to this unit are cared for by experienced Registered Nurses who have advanced clinical training in critical care and continually update their critical nursing skills.
Our ICU department teams up with critical care nurses, pharmacists, respiratory therapists, nutritionists, physical therapists and case coordinators. The entire team makes daily rounds on every patient and develops a plan of care. This plan is communicated to the patient, patient family members, primary care doctors, as well as other physicians involved in the patients care. This type of coordinated care improves the quality of care and better overall outcomes.
State-of-the-art monitoring equipment and all new high-tech beds enhance their nursing care.
AVAILABLE SERVICES
- The ICU at Pacific Hospital of Long Beach has a full-time Physician Intensivist who oversees all ICU admissions and is available 24-hours a day.
- Care is provided to all adults 16 and over, including the geriatric patient.
