As the Chief Executive Officer of Pacific Hospital of Long Beach for the last ten years, I have observed the transformation of the healthcare facility from a fine community hospital to a world class medical center serving a vast number of Medicare, Medi-Cal, Workers' Compensation and private insurance patients.

We specialize in surgeries in general and orthopedic and spine surgeries in particular. The hospital has become a state renowned center for complicated orthopedic and spine procedures. We have had the privilege of implanting the first artificial disk in the Long Beach area.

Our commitment to the community is expanding. Not only did we develop a second campus a mile and half away on Pacific Avenue four years ago, but we are expanding that medical center to add an additional 27 acute psychiatric beds to fill an overwhelming need for psychiatric care in Los Angeles. It is anticipated that expansion will be complete in 2009.

All of our employees as well as myself, welcome our community in need of up-to-date, comprehensive inpatient and outpatient healthcare services in our state-of-the-art modern facility. From emergency services to intensive care, we strive to provide comfort, recovery from pain and illness as well as acute rehabilitation.
