The Nursing Service Department is responsible for providing the patient and their families' care that requires specialized knowledge, judgment, and skills derived from the principles of biological, physical, social, psychosocial and nursing process.
The practice at the hospital is based on the nursing process, professional practice models, and recognized standards of care and is consistent with all-applicable state and regulatory laws.

Our services include both elective and emergent surgeries in the specialties of ENT, Urology, General Surgery, Vascular, Gynecology, Podiatry, Pain Management, Orthopedics and Spine. We take great pride in our ability to perform a full range of spinal surgeries and has a dedicated team of nurses focused on the special needs of our orthopedic patients.

Cynthia Christenson - Case Management
PHLB would like congratulate Cynthia Christenson, as our May 2011, Employee Of The Month.
"We had a patient in house that was homeless and in a wheelchair. He had had polio years before and was unable to walk. When he came in through the ER the paramedics brought his wheelchair which was broken and he was unable to use it. I called Engineering and they tried to repair it,but it was beyond repair."
"I made mention of this to Cindy and she started calling DME reps that we use and we did locate a chair for $100.00. I was going to tell them to bring the chair and Cindy said to wait. She kept calling around and found a rep that had a chair that was used by her family and she was going to give it to us for free. Our patient was so happy and he could safely get around. Cindy will also translate for anyone who needs her services willingly, with a smile on her face. She is a definite asset to our facility."
